Behind the Shot
Located 30-minutes from the mainland of Siargao Island in the Philippines, you’ll find the Maasin River.
This location has easily become one of the most popular tourist spots on the island due to a perfectly placed palm tree that juts out directly over the river.
Photographer Merr Watson was fortunate enough to have had this spot to herself during the early hours of the morning and was easily one of the biggest highlights of her trip to the Philippines.
Seeing the soft light hit the palm trees and the river gave out the most unworldly glow and she knew she had to capture it from above to showcase that picture perfect scene in golden hour.
