Behind the Shot
The Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated places in the world. More than 7.5 million people live in the 426-square-mile Chinese territory. On the island of Hong Kong, 1.3 million residents are packed into an area of about 30 square miles.
Hong Kong Island is home to the second-highest number of billionaires in the world, and has the highest concentration of ultrahigh-net-worth individuals in the world. Many of these residents live in the Mid-Levels, a narrow hillside area located between the central region on the north coast of the island and Victoria Peak to the south.
