Behind the Shot
Husband-wife photography duo Wesley and Emma Teague love going to Joshua Tree National Park to rest and recharge. And, of course, to take photos.
Coming from Birmingham, Alabama, the Teagues experience the West as a change of pace chock full of landscapes they don’t see at home. So understandably, the couple take every opportunity to soak it all in and enjoy the natural beauty of the San Bernardino Valley. Even when it’s 118°.
The Teagues don’t adjust or edit colors much within their work, so the golden hue of the valley and the hints of purple and blue are left untouched. Their naturalistic approach shows the beautiful colors just the way they are, and really drives home how awe-inspiring nature can be. This California sunset doesn’t need special effects to be spectacular.
