Behind the Shot
When photographer Henrike Schenk traveled to the Scottish Highlands, one thing was definitely on her list of things to see: the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, where they shot the magical train scenes in Harry Potter. Here the steam train called the Jacobite passes by in the right direction only once a day for this shot. So when Henrike arrived and was informed that the train was canceled for that day, she was disappointed—but still determined to get the shot before she returned home.
She went back the next morning. At first unhappy about the overcast weather, Schenk was ultimately happy with the outcome because “I think the moody weather fits this picture, and the other pictures from this series, way better,” she says. We’d have to say we agree.
