Behind the Shot
One of Earth’s most visually stunning vistas, the gently curved Bentonite Hills in Utah are banded with vibrant layers of orange, brown, red, yellow, white and blue. No wonder they are nicknamed the Rainbow Hills.
After capturing images of the topography with her handheld camera, photographer Meagan Puett wanted to see the contrast of the landscape from an aerial view. She used her drone to take in the varying patterns from above—offering an entirely different perspective. The elevation provides a sense of scale that contributes to the impact of this exquisite photograph.
“When I look at this image, I feel wonder and intrigue,” Meagan says. “It’s amazing how beauty can thrive in even the harshest of environments. This was one of the first shots I took after launching my drone. It was so exciting to see the swirls of color circling their way around the hills. It was definitely an adventure discovering somewhere new that was such a unique landscape.”
If you love nature, adventure and travel, this is the ideal artwork for your home or office. The remote scene transports viewers to another planet and will be a dramatic addition to your space.
