Behind the Shot
When photographer Henrike Schenk visited the Scottish Highlands, she stayed a week on the Isle of Skye. The Isle was high on her list because of all the pictures and videos she’d seen of the island’s landscapes and formations. After doing some research, she knew that hiking the Old Man of Storr was a must-do.
On a cloudy day, she hiked up and couldn’t help herself from taking pictures of the rare and gorgeous scenery. The peak offers views of the Sound of Raasay and of the mainland, which can be seen in the background of this print. The formation got its name because it resembles, from certain vantages, an old man's profile. “For me, it’s just a dream coming true to visit and capture these awesome places,” says Schenk.
