Behind the Shot
Some of the best memories are the ones that aren’t perfectly framed. On a golden evening in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, photographer Kelsey Williamson captured this fleeting moment—racing the setting sun, salt on your skin, board at your side. It’s that in-between space where time slows down just enough to remind you why you fell in love with the ocean in the first place.
“I wanted to freeze that feeling,” Kelsey says. “Not the perfect wave or the big trick, but the raw, real energy of being out there at sunset—legs soaked, board leash trailing, light blurring into water.”
Shot with a slow shutter to create a dreamy motion blur, this image brings warmth, movement, and freedom into any space. It's not about sharp lines or polished moments—it’s about feeling the adventure as it happens. A reminder to stay spontaneous, stay grounded, and savor the ride.
