Behind the Shot

Nestled in Northern Norway within the Arctic Circle is a stunning archipelago called the Lofoten Islands—known for dramatic mountains, deep fjords, distinctive scenery and charming fishing villages. There are hundreds of small turfs of land throughout the islands, contributing to a beautiful and ubiquitously rugged coastline. The tiny town of Henningsvaer, spanning several small islands off the southern coast of the Lofoten Islands, is a fascinating destination with old wooden houses, quaint boutiques and cozy cafés—all surrounded by the sea and jagged mountains. Using his drone from 1,000 feet in the air, photographer Chris Henry spotted an epic soccer field at the southern end of Henningsvaer, framed by the Norwegian Sea. Though it’s difficult to see this detail from a distance, the field was occupied by a kindergarten class playing after school. While capturing this shot, Chris pondered what might happen if one of the kids punted the ball a little too far off field! While your home or office might not be as remote as Henningsvaer, this print of the magical village showcased on your wall will serve as a striking tribute to your passion for sports—even in the most unexpected places.
