Behind the Shot
Captured in Teahupo’o, French Polynesia, Paradisia is a love letter to the island’s towering peaks and landscapes that have long inspired local photographer Ryan Borne. “These mountains are some of my favorite in all of French Polynesia,” he says. “I’ve always wanted to photograph them in a way that honored their beauty and presence—and the way I feel when I’m near them.”
Shot from the water, this image balances strength and serenity, pulling you into a dreamlike landscape where mountains rise from the jungle and clouds move slow. It's the kind of view you might catch on a quiet morning while floating just offshore, the kind that reminds you how wild and untouched the world can still feel.
Whether hung in a home or office, Paradisia opens up a room. With its horizontal format and expansive perspective, it acts like a window—inviting stillness, scale, and a breath of warm, tropical air.
