Pragser Wildsee, a crown-jewel lake of the Italian Dolomites, is a must-visit for every adventurer. Nestled into a wild and romantic rocky valley basin, it is one of the most breathtaking bodies of water in Italy with its turquoise-green color, verdant spruce pine forests and towering limestone peaks. The natural beauty and diversity of the Dolomites mountain range enchant visitors in every season—as a ski haven in the winter and a hiker’s paradise in the summer. Antique boating cabins, pristine lakes, lush forests and massive mountains offer a picture-perfect landscape. Photographer Chris Henry was delighted with the simplicity of the rowboats lined up just offshore at Pragser Wildsee. “I want my work to have a certain intensity that moves people,” Chris says. “Whether in a city or out in the wild, I primarily aim to make my photography fall under the category of ‘moody.’” This minimalistic take on one of Europe’s most picturesque alpine lakes highlights the intrinsic beauty of the Italian Alps.
